When you report an issue through our User Feedback feature, you can include several types of visual information to help our support team understand and resolve your problem as quickly as possible. The tool is designed to make providing context simple and effective.
Here are the primary types of visual information you can provide:
1. Annotated Screenshots
When you open the feedback widget to report an issue, it automatically takes a screenshot of the current page you are viewing. You can then use a suite of built-in annotation tools to add crucial context directly onto the image. These tools include:
- Drawing & Highlighting: You can use a pen tool or a highlighter to circle, underline, or draw arrows to the specific elements on the page that are related to your issue.
- Adding Text Notes: Place text boxes directly on the screenshot to add specific comments or point out details.
- Blackout / Redaction Tool: This is a critical feature for privacy. You can use the blackout tool to completely obscure any sensitive or personal client information on the screen before you submit the report. We strongly encourage you to use this to protect client data.
2. Screen Recordings (Video)
For issues that are more complex or happen over multiple steps, a simple screenshot may not be enough. In these cases, you can record a short video of your screen to demonstrate the problem.
- How it Works: The feature allows you to record your actions as you navigate the platform, showing our team the exact steps you took that led to the issue.
- Voice Narration: You can choose to enable your microphone to record audio along with the video. This allows you to explain what you are doing and what you are seeing in your own words as you demonstrate the problem.
- When to Use It: Video is ideal for showing bugs in workflows, unexpected pop-ups, or any issue that isn't visible on a static screen.
By providing clear visual evidence like an annotated screenshot or a screen recording, you give our development team the precise context they need to replicate, diagnose, and fix the issue efficiently, saving you time and frustration.
